We've had a lot of questions regarding use of the Tilt Hydrometer with stainless steel fermenters. It does work! However, depending on how thick the steel is will determine how close your smartphone/tablet needs to be to get readings. In this test, the steel container is outside and the tablet is receiving data from the Tilt Hydrometer inside through the window.
