Tilt® Pro Wireless Hydrometer and Thermometer

Built for stainless. Reads through the tank wall, the krausen, the gylcol jacket, and beyond.

Stainless steel makes a great fermenter and a terrible radio window. The Tilt® Pro was designed for exactly that problem: a power amplifier and high-gain antenna push its Bluetooth signal through conical walls, jacketed tanks and thick heads of foam, so you get gravity and temperature on your phone, tablet or Tilt Pi without touching a sample port.

Stop guessing when it's done

No more pulling samples to find out you're two points from terminal. The Tilt Pro floats in the beer and reports specific gravity and temperature around the clock, so you see the curve flatten, catch a stall before it costs you a week, and time your cold crash, dry hop or nutrient addition on data instead of a calendar.

Steadier readings when fermentation gets violent

At three times the volume and weight of the original Tilt, the Pro rides lower and steadier through high krausen. Yeast rafts and foam that can nudge a lighter hydrometer have far less effect here, which means a cleaner plot and fewer "is that real?" moments at 2 a.m.

Four decimals of specific gravity

The Tilt Pro reads to the ten-thousandth (1.0000) with 0.1° temperature resolution in Fahrenheit or Celsius. That's fine enough to watch a slow finish lose less than a brewer's point a day, and to know the difference between "almost there" and "there."

Range that survives stainless

Approximately 375 ft line of sight in an open vessel, and about 25 ft from inside a closed stainless keg. In practice that means a phone across the cellar, a tablet on the wall, or a Tilt Pico on the tank lid pushing readings to the cloud while you're at home.

Batteries you'll forget about

Two pre-installed AA lithium batteries run for 3 to 5 years depending on use. Set it, drop it in, and it will still be reporting several batch cycles from now. When the day finally comes, replacement takes a minute and uses batteries sold at any hardware store.

Logs anywhere you already work

Works with the free Tilt app on iPhone and Android, Tilt Pi on a Raspberry Pi, and Tilt Pico for WiFi cloud logging. Post data to Google Sheets, Brewfather, Brewer's Friend or Brewstat.us and check your ferment from anywhere. Run up to eight Tilt Pros side by side, one color per tank.

Which Tilt is right for you?

  • Tilt — glass carboys and plastic buckets; the original and still the easy choice for home brewing in non-metal vessels.
  • Tilt Pro Mini — small stainless fermenters with 1.5" dump ports; most of the Pro's range in a smaller, lower-cost package.
  • Tilt Pro — craft-scale stainless tanks, unitanks and jacketed conicals where signal and stability matter most.

Wireless Hydrometer and Thermometer – Technical Specifications

Model name: Tilt Pro  |  Part numbers: BB11, BB21, BB31, BB41, BB51, BB61, BB71, BB81  |  Manufacturer: Baron Brew Equipment, LLC (USA)

The Tilt Pro is a floating, sealed, battery-powered wireless hydrometer and thermometer, designed for craft-scale stainless steel fermentation tanks, used to monitor the specific gravity and temperature of fermenting beer, wine, cider, mead and similar liquids without opening the fermentation vessel. It transmits readings using Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) advertising packets in the license-free 2.4 GHz ISM band to a smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth receiver running the free Tilt app. It broadcasts sensor data only and does not connect to WiFi, cellular or any other network.
